Acquisition and Contracting Capabilities
Cherokee is the largest provider of critical acquisition, engineering, technical, procurement, post-award, including contract reconciliations, problem solving, supply-chain management, and backorder reduction services in the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). Cherokee has over 500 acquisition professionals supporting the DLA Defense Supply Centers in Columbus, Richmond, and Philadelphia. All three of these contracts are performance-based with customized metrics for each functional area and each business unit. Cherokee knows the business processes required to manage metrics and partnered with DLA to create an automated process to capture these metrics.
All of Cherokee’s acquisition professionals interact with a full breadth of Government contracts on a daily basis where they apply a comprehensive knowledge of funding, contract content, and FAR/DFARs/DLAR/DLAM clause content/implementation. These interactions include creating acquisition strategies, writing and issuing Government solicitations, conducting comprehensive cost or price analysis, creating the Pricing Negotiation Briefing Memorandums (PBMs), drafting award recommendations, scripting Pricing Negotiation Memorandums (PNMs), and writing the Government contract award document. This includes every type of contract:
- FFP, FPIF, FPAF, FPAT, CP, CPFF, CPAF, CPAT
- Complex multi-year IDIQ, complex corporate contracts, simplified acquisition, micro-purchases
- Multiple Contract Line Item Number (CLIN) contracts.
Cherokee’s support has provided significant results in improved effectiveness and efficiencies to include reduced Procurement Action Lead Time (PALT) and reduced Backorders.
