Information Technology
Cherokee employs state of the art technology and industry best practices in its support of the Nuclear Management Information System (NUMIS) and the Defense Integration and Management of Nuclear Data Services (DIAMONDS) for the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA). These systems integrate disparate legacy databases containing information concerning the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Nuclear Stockpile, which provides asset management, maintenance information and technical information across multiple organizations and corresponding security layers. The overall nature of this data is extremely sensitive and has some of the strictest data management performance requirements of any system in operation today. Simply stated, any warhead, component, or associated equipment must be tracked with 100% certainty, 100% of the time, even while being transported.

DIAMONDS (Defense Integration And Management Of Nuclear Data Services) is a web-based Rich Internet Application (RIA) developed with Adobe Flash 8 using Flash Remoting and ORACLE 10g, ColdFusionMX7, and Netscape Enterprise Server.
DIAMONDS supports DoD and non DoD users world-wide at all operational levels with ready access to information regarding the U. S. nuclear stockpile. DIAMONDS was developed and expanded by using a Joint Architecture Design (JAD) and Rapid Application Development (RAD) process. Cherokee provides, manages, and administers all classified access to DIAMONDS systems via Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) within DoD’s Non-Classified Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPRNet) infrastructure. Cherokee is also responsible for Help Desk support, security accreditation, design, and implementation support including threat assessment, system assessment, system documentation, deployment site vulnerability assessment, operations and maintenance procedure assessment, installation assessment, periodic vulnerability assessments, and user identification and authentication assessments.
