Functional Area Experience:

FA 3.5 – System Design Documentation and Technical Data Support

Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Common Food Management System (CFMS) Development

RSI supported the DLA in the development of the CFMS. CFMS is a DoD-mandated program to consolidate the individual food service management systems of the four military services into a single uniform system, thereby achieving greater efficiency and economies of scale. RSI supported the design and development of core software and software extensions and the alignment of that software with external partners and internal interfaces; to provide technical infrastructure support; to identify and develop process re-engineering strategies; to perform testing, certification, and change management tasks; and to assist the CFMS program office in preparing training materials and performing deployment planning. The program required expertise in performance, regression testing, quality assurance, and in data management. It also required resources with extensive knowledge of best practices in food service management, of the military services’ food management requirements, and the ability to combine technical specifications with functional requirements in the development of design documents.

FA 3.6 – Software Engineering, Development, Programming, and Network Support

Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS)

RSI supports the development and sustainment of the DLA’s DMLSS system. Support includes system and application administration, monitoring systems and applications, network and system security, release management, developer and database support, disaster planning and recovery, software development standards definition, application development framework support, new capabilities studies and analyses of emerging technologies, enhancing or implementing system software solutions, system quality assurance, system validation, coordination and planning to meet technical requirements, system architecture (DOD Architectural Framework systems view) development, and configuration control board execution.

FA 3.12 – Information System (IS) Development, Information Assurance (IA), and Information Technology (IT) Support
