Mr. Scott Johnson
As Director of Business Development & Communications, Mr. Johnson oversees Cherokee’s Marketing, Business Development, and Business Capture efforts and is responsible for communicating Cherokee’s corporate message through a variety of disciplines and methods.
After graduating from High Point College (NC) with a BS in General Science and concentrations in oceanographic science and chemistry, Mr. Johnson entered the Navy as a Supply Corps Officer where he provided supply/logistics management and technical expertise to support U.S. Navy and Marine Corps units and organizations. He held positions of increasing scope and responsibility. His responsibilities included management of all aspects of supply operations, including financial management, weapon system configuration management, supply support, inventory management, food service, retail sales and disbursing, aviation support, stock point operations, contracting, and Security Assistance Programs (Foreign Military Sales-FMS). During this time, Mr. Johnson attained an M.S. in Business from Webster University and qualified as a Surface Warfare Supply Officer. His duty stations included: USS Edward McDonnell (FF-1043), MCAS Yuma AZ, USS Rentz FFG 46, and the Naval Air Systems Command.
After leaving the Navy, Mr. Johnson supported business development efforts for several government contractors in a variety of roles, including Proposal Manager, Bid Center Manager, Proposal Center Director. He has performed all facets of proposal preparation and management for commercial and Federal IT proposals, including analysis, strategy planning, resource planning, proposal design/structure/format, proposal development, production and post submittal activities in response to solicitations..
